Description
The EERIE answers Horizon Europe call: HORIZON-CL5-2022-D1-02-02: Development of high-resolution Earth system models for global and regional climate change projections.
The project uses four European global climate models to produce new simulations of past and future climate. The representation of ocean processes will be at the cutting edge given that recent research suggests that improved ocean model resolution (size of grid spacing) can lead to important differences in the future projections of UK rainfall. The project plans to develop new techniques using Machine Learning to understand the causes of model bias and to investigate the consequences of climate tipping points. The proposal will be led by the Met Office, with around 12 European partners.
