Biography
I graduated in Physics from the University of Granada in Spain. I completed my PhD as a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellow at the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at the University of Ioannina in Greece. During my doctoral studies, I was also a visiting researcher at the SIMaP laboratory at Grenoble INP in France. I was a postdoctoral researcher at the Materials Modelling for Devices group at Tyndall National Institute (University College Cork, Ireland) and at the Institute for Advanced Study at Shenzhen University in China.

Research
Our research is focused on the computational modelling of materials by Density Functional Theory (DFT) and Molecular Dynamics (MD) simulations. We use computer simulations to study the structural and electronic properties of metals and metal-oxides' surfaces and interfaces; aiming to understand the fundamental interactions between these materials and simple molecules. The main outcomes of our work are key for the rational design of novel materials that can be used in a wide range of applications such as fusion power reactors, photocatalysis, energy storage systems, nanoelectronic devices or biomedical implants.
