Biography
Albert Cañigueral is an explorer, consultant, author and speaker around the impacts of technology in society.
At BSC-CNS, as Artificial Intelligence and Language Technologies (AI/LT) coordination and development manager, his tasks include:
- Bridging Business Development and Innovation (led by Mariona Sanz), Language Technologies Unit (led by Marta Villegas) and Communications (led by Núria Noriega) to help move forward BSC AI/LT initiatives
- Coordination with public and private sectors for BSC AI/LT diffusion
- Ecosystem coordination and development around BSC AI/LT open source resources
- Participation in the BSC AI/LT strategy development
- Public speaking on behalf of BSC about the AI/LT initiatives
Albert is a member of Los 100 de COTEC, BMW Foundation Responsible Leaders Network, Tech Barcelona and a Fellow of The Royal Society for Arts (RSA) among other affiliations.
Before joining BSC-CNS Albert focused on the impacts of technology and the future of work. Author of “El trabajo ya no es lo que era: nuevas formas de trabajar, otras maneras de vivir” (Conecta, 2020), “WorkerTech: Cómo la tecnología puede mejorar los empleos emergentes en América Latina y el Caribe” (Banco Interamericano de Desarrollo, 2021) and co-producer and co-director of “Ciudad en Beta: el trabajo de hoy, la ciudad del mañana” (Createl, 2022).
Between 2021 and 2022 Albert served as director general de Dades Obertes, Transparència i Col·laboració at the Open Government Secretary at Generalitat de Catalunya. Before that he led the development of the Ouishare network in Spain and Latin America from 2012-2021.
