I recently joined the Global Health Resilience team in the Earth Science Department. My background is in veterinary Medicine, and I just finished a PhD in Epidemiology studying dengue virus surveillance in Ae. aegypti at UC. Davis. Here at BSC I will be working on co-developing tools that will improve the ability of researchers, public health officials and other stakeholders to easily access and utilize climactic, health and socioeconomic data, and to input that data into predictive models. The goal is for a larger group of users to be able to predict infectious disease dynamics and thus improve planning of local preventative or emergency responses.
