The Welfare and Equity Team examines the impact of policies on socio-economic mobility and well-being. They use data to identify patterns for more effective and equitable policies. Their aim is to improve outcomes for individuals and society.
Summary
The Welfare and Equity Team is dedicated to examining how education, labour, and social protection policies shape individuals' life paths over time, focusing on their long-term impact on socio-economic mobility and well-being. It also explores how improved informational systems, using rich administrative records, can enhance the design and implementation of these policies. By analysing data across sectors, the study aims to identify patterns that can inform more effective and equitable policy decisions, leading to better outcomes for individuals and society.
Currently, we are working on the following projects:
Data-Driven Educational and Career Pathways: Enhancing Guidance Through Informational Insights. The research project leverages rich informational data to map possible educational and labour market pathways for individuals. It aims to enhance career and education guidance and success by analysing real-world individual trajectories, identifying key decision elements, and assessing the impact of different choices. By integrating diverse data sources, the project provides evidence-based insights to support better decision-making for students, workers, and policymakers.
Intelligent Data Stewardship for Policy and Research: This research line focuses on developing a comprehensive framework for data sharing in policy and research while ensuring compliance with GDPR. It integrates legal, statistical, and privacy expertise to assess the necessity, adequacy, and proportionality of data use. By leveraging AI and secure access systems, the project aims to streamline the validation process, minimize privacy risks, and facilitate responsible data-driven decision-making in the public interest.
We collaborate closely with policymakers and key stakeholders to ensure our research is aligned with their needs and focused on addressing critical societal challenges.
