Collaboration in research between the BSC and Chile

The director of the Barcelona Supercomputing Center, Mateo Valero, visited the National Supercomputing Laboratory of Chile (NLHPC) from January the 14th to January the 17th.

The director of the Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC), Mateo Valero, visited the National Supercomputing Laboratory of Chile (NLHPC) from January the 14th to January the 17th. During his stay, the director of the BSC participated in different events of scientific dissemination and meetings with Chilean authorities, among them the Minister of Science, Technology, Knowledge and Innovation, Andrés Couve, the president of the National Council of Innovation for Development, Álvaro Fischer, and the executive director of the National Agency of Research and Development of Chile, Aisén Etcheverry.

Valero participated in the most relevant scientific dissemination event in Latin America, the Futuro Congress, and in the inauguration of Guacolda, the expansion of the NLHPC supercomputer, with which the supercomputer reaches a peak power of 266 teraflops. He also had the opportunity to learn about the lines of research of some of the NLHPC's users, to create collaborative links. The meeting had the following agenda:
