7th Call on the Severo Ochoa Mobility Grant Program

The Severo Ochoa (SO) program at BSC provides financial support for outgoing mobility for BSC staff and incoming mobility of researchers of up to a maximum of € 4000 per person. The mobility grants are given to support collaborative research between institutions. For eligibility, please see the target group information on the main page.

The 7th call for applications for SO mobility grants deadline is 20th of December 2016.

Objectives

Incoming Mobility

For visits and exchange of researchers on collaboration related to the SO research project. Preference will be given to proposals for a period of exchange of more than 2 weeks.

The hosting research group has to apply on behalf of their visitors for an Incoming Mobility Grant.

Outgoing Mobility

for visits and exchange of BSC staff to other research Institutions. The visits have to be related to the SO BSC project objectives. Preference will be given to proposals for 1 to 3 months’ period of exchange.

Requirements

NOTE

Only BSC staff is eligible for the outgoing mobility grant and only researchers PERSONALLY invited by leaders of research groups at BSC are eligible for the incoming mobility grant.

Evaluation Criteria

EVALUATION PROCEDURES

  • The proposals will be examined by a committee appointed by the management. If necessary, the committee may request more information.
  • The resolution will be announced January 20th.

EVALUATION CRITERIA

  • Impact potential for BSC, e.g. capacity to develop further collaboration and exchange with the home institution of the visitor (incoming) /with the hosting research group (outgoing) 45%
  • Academic credentials and research excellence of the candidate 30%
  • Alignment with the Objectives of the Severo Ochoa Project 25%

Grant Budget Itemization

Up to a maximum of 4000€ per person per visit out of which:

  • transport costs:
    • train and other ground transportation – tourist, second class or equivalent
    • plane – economy class or cheaper
  • contribution to the accommodation cost and in the case of BSC staff to the living allowance in accordance with the current BSC regulations, but not exceeding the overall maximum amount per person per visit (€4000) including the transport costs.
