This non-binding Letter of Intent (LOI) affirms that Participants who sign it intend to collaborate in the formation and operation of an open technology AI Alliance (the Alliance), with a mission to continually build and release the world s most advanced, trusted, and safe open technology for AI, and inform and enable scientists, developers, policymakers, business leaders, and the general public.
The Alliance will be composed of commercial, research, government and academic organizations who believe in the transformative potential of AI, but also believe that, to maximize utility and minimize potential harm to society, we need highly capable technologies that are developed and made available in an open and transparent manner, using best practices for community development, ethics, security and safety.
While organizations will make their own choices for their products, services and research plans, in general the Alliance Participants view is that AI technologies can often benefit from transparent, community-driven research, development, security and safety testing and validation.
