Purpose
The CURES (Comité de Usuarios de la Red Española de Supercomputación) was stablished on the 9th of February 2010. The purpose of CURES is to provide advice and feedback to the RES management and technicians about the current state and future delivery of RES resources and services. CURES aims to promote the effective use of the high performance computing facilities at RES by sharing information about experiences in using the facility, suggesting new research and technology directions in scientific computing, and voicing user concerns. To this end CURES will maintain communications through appropriate means, such as regular meetings, shared databases, and webpages.
Membership
The CURES members are eight scientists, two per RES area, chosen by the Coordinators of the Allocation Committee. All of them are PIs (Principal Investigators) of projects that have been developed accessing the RES resources.
Chair and Vice‐Chair are elected by the members of the CURES among its members for a two year period and half of the members are renewed every year. Each member can stay a maximum of two years. Chair and Vice‐Chair are also renewed every two years but not simultaneously. At the end of a Chairs’ mandate, in order to facilitate continuity of CURES activities, the Vice‐Chair will take the Chair and a new Vice‐Chair will be elected.
The Current CURES chair is José J. Plata.
