The number of highly productive and cited female researchers at BSC is on the rise

The third edition of the ranking of women researchers from Spanish and international institutions highlights 18 BSC scientists, double the number of the previous edition

Eighteen researchers from the Barcelona Supercomputing Center - Centro Nacional de Supercomputación (BSC-CNS), nine more than last year, are included in the ranking of outstanding women researchers in Spain, which in its third edition includes a total of 9,765 women scientists. The BSC has thus doubled its presence in a list compiled by the Cibermetrics Lab, a unit of the Consejo Nacional de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC).

The BSC researchers appearing in the list are: Mervi J. Mantsinen (ranked 535th, with an H-index of 52 and 7,503 citations); Natasa Przulj (ranked 540th, with an H-index of 51 and 14,407 citations); Rosa M. Badia (ranked 646th, with an H-index of 49 and 10,517 citations); Rachel Lowe (ranked 1,047th, with an H-index of 43 and 10,700 citations); Sara Basart (ranked 2,036th, with an H-index of 36 and 3. 783 citations); Nadia Tonello (rank 2,261, with an H-index of 34 and 9,037 citations); Rosa Fernández (rank 2602, with an H-index of 33 and 3,510 citations); Virginie Guémas (rank 3,177, with an H-index of 30 and 4,766 citations); Marta Melé (rank 3,716, with an H-index of 28 and 13,152 citations); Raquel Martins Lana (rank 5. 860, with an H-index of 23 and 2,389 citations); Martina R. Klose (rank 7,185, with an H-index of 21 and 1,643 citations); Jazmín Aguado Sierra (rank 7,595, with an H-index of 20 and 2,191 citations); Deborah Verfaillie (rank 8,639, with an H-index of 19 and 1,225 citations); Montserrat Puiggròs (rank 8. 906, with an H-index of 18 and 3,631 citations); Ivana Cvijanovic (8,907, with an H-index of 18 and 3,623 citations); Marta Terrado (8,967, with an H-index of 18 and 2,187 citations); Anna Vlasova (rank 8,986, with an H-index of 18 and 2,029 citations); and Anna Queralt (rank 9,542, with an H-index of 18 and 1,049 citations).

The ranking positions scientists who have an H-index of 18 or higher in their Google Scholar profile (a measure of the impact of an author's research that considers the quality and quantity of citations of scientific articles) and also takes into account the number of citations they have received.
