The companies have created 121 jobs and raised 6 million euros in financing rounds in just over six years.
The Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC) participated in the 2022 edition of the Transfiere Forum, held in the city of Malaga on February 16 and 17. The participation focused on promoting the entrepreneurial ecosystem in the field of supercomputing in which the center, as a leader in scientific production in the area, also aims to establish itself as a critical reference.
The Technology Transfer area participated in the event to show the multiplier potential of BSC spin-off companies. With spin-offs that have created 121 jobs and raised €6 million in financing rounds in just over six years, even though 5 of the 11 companies have only been operating since 2020, the existence of a boiling entrepreneurial ecosystem embedded to the centre is clear.
Transfiere is the leading R&D forum in southern Europe. Its purpose is clear: to act as an exhibitor for the scientific and technological knowledge that scientific entities produce with their activity to promote innovation and the connection between science and the market. The exhibition attracted more than 3,000 professionals in these circumstances, mainly from research centres, companies, investment funds, and public institutions.
