Qbeast is a Big Data cloud platform and takes a “Cubistic approach” on Big Data. Thanks to an innovative data storage technology, that combines multidimensional indexing and sampling techniques, Qbeast organizes and manages data matching the way our brains consume it. The platform produces the same insights while only accessing a small fraction of available data. This is what Qbeast calls Data Leverage.
“Adjusting the precision of data analytics is only possible with our patented architecture that performs Data Leverage. This allows customers to analyze data interactively and up to 100 times easier and faster.”, stresses Cesare Cugnasco, Qbeast CEO, senior researcher on Big Data and HPC at the BSC and one of the inventors of the patented technology.
By only accessing the information that humans are capable of assimilating, it is possible to manage the data in real time and provide an interactive experience in the analysis of big data. In this way, users can have a two-way conversation with the data management system. People explore and modify data seamlessly, and the system learns and applies modifications on the spot.
Qbeast has been partially developed in several European projects such as Human Brain Project, I-BiDaaS and QUAKE, where BSC participates as a technology partner. Qbeast has helped in several use cases to speed up data processes. These projects include partners such as HBP Brain Atlas, CaixaBank, Telefónica I + D and FIAT Research.
