The BSC researcher Leonardo Bautista-Gomez was one of the winners of the last edition of the IEEE TCSC Award for Excellence in Scalable Computing for Early Career Researcher. The awards ceremony took place in December during the HPCC conference in Sydney.
IEEE TCSC Award for Excellence in Scalable Computing for Early Career Researchers (previously called IEEE TCSC Award for Young Achievers in Scalable Computing) recognizes up to 5 individuals who have made outstanding, influential, and potentially long-lasting contributions in the field of scalable computing within 5 years of receiving their PhD degree as of January 01 of the year of the award.
Bautista works in the Computer Architecture for Parallel Paradigms group at BSC and his job focuses on the design of novel techniques and software to guarantee the reliability of extreme scale supercomputers. He has recently been awarded a European Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions Fellowship to investigate optimal ways to leverage deep memories hierarchies and the new coming technologies.
