Barcelona hosts Europe's leading event on IT architecture, programming models and cybersecurity, which this year celebrates its 20th edition
The Barcelona Supercomputing Center-Centro Nacional de Supercomputación (BSC-CNS) will play a pivotal role in the upcoming HiPEAC 2025 Conference, taking place from 20-23 January 2025 in Barcelona. As the local organizer of this year’s conference, BSC will actively contribute to Europe’s leading event on computer architecture, programming models, and cybersecurity.
“As co-founder and first coordinator of HiPEAC, it is an absolute pleasure to welcome HiPEAC 2025 delegates to Barcelona,' comments Mateo Valero, director of BSC. 'We have come a long way in European embedded and high-performance computing since HiPEAC was founded in 2004. Now, at the twentieth edition of the conference, it is time to embark on new challenges to revitalize the European technology sector.”
BSC researchers will present advancements in high-performance computing (HPC), artificial intelligence (AI), and related fields through nine sessions, a poster session, and an exhibition booth, showcasing innovative solutions in machine learning, compute efficiency, and safety-critical systems.
Throughout the conference, the BSC will offer a space through which attendees can explore our latest projects, meet our experts and discover how BSC is innovating across domains. The booth will showcase solutions that are shaping smarter, safer and more efficient computing landscapes. This includes the MONDRAGON board, custom PCB designed to test the capabilities of the Lagarto RISC-V series chips, designed and fabricated using GF 22FDX and TSMC 65 technology.
Sessions featuring BSC researchers
BSC researchers will contribute to nine transdisciplinary sessions. Find the schedule here:
Keynote
Leading researcher, Marc Casas, will being giving the keynote, "Analysis and Simulation of Architectures Supporting the RISC-V “V” Vector Extension" at the RAPIDO Workshop, “Rapid Simulation and Performance Evaluation for Design Optimization: Methods and Tools”, which will focus on methods and tools for rapid simulation and performance evaluation in embedded and high-performance system design.
Women in HPC
BSC established researchers Marta Garcia-Gasulla and Sara Royuela are working to foster an inclusive environment in technology with their workshop, “MAR WHPC Chapter: Building the Diversity Continuum in Cutting-Edge Technologies.” This session will unite leading female experts in HPC, AI, and real-time systems to share their latest research and facilitate collaborative discussions aimed at advancing the frontiers of technology. BSC established researcher, Elli Kartsakli, will participate as a panelist.
Talent support
BSC is participating in the HiPEAC-led passport challenge for students and job-seekers. Join us on STEM Student Day to learn more about BSC and to qualify for a special prize.
20 years of HiPEAC
The last day of the HiPEAC conference counts with a very special event: a celebration of 20 years of HiPEAC. BSC director, Mateo Valero, will give the keynote “BSC: HiPEAC, HPC and AI” highlighting the BSC’s contributions to HPC and AI at the forefront of European research.
