Context And Mission
Within the Department of Earth Sciences of the Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC), led by Prof. Francisco Doblas-Reyes, the Computational Earth Sciences group is looking for a web developer with knowledge and experience in ReactJs to improve the Graphical Interface (https:/ /earth.bsc .es/gitlab/wuruchi/autosubmitreact) from the Autosubmit workflow manager (https://pypi.python.org/pypi/autosubmit). Python skills will also be desirable to help develop and maintain Autosubmit.
Autosubmit is a Python-based software that allows you to create, manage and monitor climate and weather modeling experiments by interacting with computing clusters and supercomputers through Secure Shell, being able to combine multiple platforms in the same workflow. It is the tool used in the BSC to carry out experiments with the EC-Earth climate model, the NEMO ocean model, or the MONARCH air quality model. These types of workflow applications are really important due to the advent of new and more flexible software technologies that require scalable and robust model orchestration procedures.
We need a proactive candidate with good programming skills to join our development team and improve the most used tool in the department by adding a new graphic layer to improve the user experience and increase the efficiency of this software.
