Biography

Gerard Guillamet is a senior researcher at Barcelona Supercomputing Center - Centro Nacional de Supercomputación (BSC-CNS) in the Dual-use Technologies group. He obtained his BSc in Industrial engineering from the University of Girona (2011); M.Sc. in Mechanics of Materials and Structures - with a specialization in composite structures, from the University of Girona (2012); and Ph.D. in Engineering in advanced composite materials from the same University (2016). The Ph.D. was established in collaboration with Airbus Operations GmbH (Hamburg) in the “2genComp – Second Generation Composites” scope. During his Doctoral program, Gerard Guillamet also performed a research stay at the Dept. of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering at Aalborg University (Denmark). In 2016, he joined the BSC-CNS to strengthen the composite materials and structures research line in the Dept. of Computer Applications in Science and Engineering (CASE).
