Context And Mission

Reporting to the BSC Technology Transfer Manager, the BSC Senior technology transfer officer will facilitate the exploitation of BSC’s research results by transferring knowledge and technology developed at BSC to the market, and being in contact and promote the linkage with technology transfer, entrepreneurship and HPC ecosystem, and help with the legal documentation related with Spin Off management.

Key Duties

  • Be responsible of the accomplishment of the internal procedure to spin off creation by helping researchers who want to constitute a spin off and prepare legal documentation for the final approval of Consejo Rector.
  • Be responsible of stablish the internal mechanisms to ensure the internal procedures to spin off creation are correctly executed
  • Help with the management of the portfolio of BS constituted spin off, acting as an interlocutor with them and BSC, attending to boards when is necessary and follow the technology transfer agreements by invoicing royalties based on agreement conditions
  • Act as secretary of Comité de Seguimiento de Spin off
  • Be in contact and promote the linkage with technology transfer ecosystem, European, Spanish and Catalan
  • Act as an interface with external legal services and help with the legal documentation related with Spin off management.
  • Responsibilities: 1.Help with the management of the BSC Spin off portfolio; 2. Follow the technology transfer agreements with BSC spin off ; 3.Interlocution with external legal services related with spin off management

Requirements

  • Education
    • Business or Law degree preferred (applicants with a science or engineering degree will also be considered)
    • Master in innovation, IPR management, or similar a plus
    • Specialized courses on the exploitation of research results, or similar a plus
  • Essential Knowledge and Professional Experience
    • Min 3 years’ experience in a technology transfer team
    • Min 3 years’ Projects between non-profit research centers and private industry
    • Min 3 years’ experience in creating start-ups
  • Competences
    • Fluency in English, Spanish and Catalan, essential
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to take initiative, prioritize and work under set deadlines and pressure
    • Willing to travel

Conditions

  • The position will be located at BSC within the Directors Department
  • We offer a full-time contract (37.5h/week), a good working environment, a highly stimulating environment with state-of-the-art infrastructure, flexible working hours, extensive training plan, restaurant tickets, private health insurance, support to the relocation procedures
  • Duration: Open-ended contract due to technical and scientific activities linked to the project and budget duration
  • Holidays: 23 paid vacation days plus 24th and 31st of December per our collective agreement
  • Salary: we offer a competitive salary commensurate with the qualifications and experience of the candidate and according to the cost of living in Barcelona
  • Starting date: 01/08/2024
