Investigation of AI/ML approaches for the analysis of complex biological networks, in the fields of epigenomics, ontology constructions and diseases associations (comorbidity).
Summary
Understanding how different cell types can be produced by the same DNA sequence requires the disentanglement of various levels of biological regulation. Transcriptomics data is being used to study relationships between patients and cell types at the molecular gene expression level, while a recent focus of the group has been the study of DNA and histone modifications in the 3D nuclear context.
