Abstract: Digital Transformation is a new academic area focusing on transformation of businesses, organisations, and government happening due to massive use and innovation of digital technology. I will present an approach to Health Informatics area within the framework of Digital Transformation and Innovation created at the Dalhousie University. In the second part, two research projects aimed at learning about health from opinion mining and behavioural analytics. We use NLP to analyse data of a survey of over 50,000 participants in the CLSA dataset (Canadian Longitudinal Study of Health Aging) to learn about what people consider to be healthy aging. In the second project, we show that by analysis of playing data in gaming machines, it is possible to detect playstyle and possible gambling problems by mining player behaviour data.
