Description
The EuroHPC JU work programme recognises education and training as pivotal to maximising the impact and exploitation ofscientific and societal disciplines by preparing skilled professionals capable of addressing emerging challenges.
The proposed EuroHPC Virtual Training Academy (EVITA) will advance this objective. EVITA will govern a broadly agreed upon Competence and Qualification Framework built on identified HPC professional profiles defined by competencies and skills. Skills will be structured in askill tree which will serve as the basic building blocks for modules and courses in EVITA. To acquire high-quality training modules, theproject will establish a cascade funding mechanism to attract leading training providers to submit material through open calls. Atransparent review process will ensure quality and consistency.
The project will develop a didactic concept that integratespedagogical principles with forefront technical solutions. An innovative online training platform will be developed as a structuredrepository of training material, equipped to guide learning and teaching. Pre-defined learning pathways will direct learners throughvarious professional profiles. A learner may follow their own path, and any acquired skill (exam passed) will be certified. Learners fulfilling training requirements of a professional profile will be certified. Trainers will be able to access a pool of exam questions, including solutions, by selecting modules or full courses through the platform.
EVITA aspires to create an interconnected communityof learners, educators, and industry professionals who are empowered with cutting-edge HPC knowledge and skills. Accordingly, EVITA has assembled a consortium of the most impactful actors in HPC education and training within Europe, institutions which arecurrently coordinating or are heavily involved in the network of HPC Competence Centres, the EUMaster4HPC and the actions HPCSPECTRA and HPCTRAIN.
