The INB coordinates the Data Science programme within the Spanish infrastructure for Personalized Medicine associated with Science and Technology (IMPaCT in Spanish). This initiative aims to establish an interoperable framework for biomedical data integration and analysis, addressing clinical questions by implementing computing systems in healthcare settings. The programme prepares clinical data in Spain for secondary use, including medical imaging, structured and unstructured clinical data, and genomics, ensuring compliance with all relevant legal provisions.
In 2022, the European Commission launched flagship projects focused on biomedical data use and reuse to enable and accelerate research. In this context, the BSC participates in the European Genomic Infrastructure (GDI) and the EUropean federation for CAncer IMages (EUCAIM). Additionally, BSC coordinates and contributes to projects related to Software Quality in Life Sciences, such as EVERSE and ELIXIR-STEERS, as well as European projects on health data and EHDS legislation adoption, like PRECISEU.
- Support the Principal Investigator (PI) by managing administrative and technical tasks, ensuring efficient project execution and alignment with strategic goals.
- Assist in planning resource allocation and tracking the progress of research projects involving multiple partners.
- Act as a liaison between the PI and BSC legal services, researchers, and external collaborators to facilitate communication and coordination.
- Organize and participate in project meetings, teleconferences, reviews, and other relevant events, ensuring effective follow-ups and documentation.
- Maintain communication with project stakeholders, including participation in regular meetings and discussions to ensure alignment with project objectives.

Education
- University Degree (some relation with Life Sciences and/or IT will be an advantage).

Essential Knowledge and Professional Experience
- Experience in coordinating and managing research projects, including administrative and technical support roles.
- Familiarity with funding mechanisms, grant writing, and project proposal preparation in national and international research programs.
- Proven ability to work with multidisciplinary teams.

Additional Knowledge and Professional Experience
- Background in bioinformatics is an advantage.
- Experience in developing project technical specifications.
- Experience coordinating research proposals and projects funded by the European Commission’s Framework Programme, the Spanish Plan Estatal, or bilateral contracts with companies.
- Fluency in English and Spanish is essential.

- The position will be located at BSC within the Life Sciences Department

- Duration: Open-ended contract due to technical and scientific activities linked to the project and budget duration

Development of the recruitment process
The selection will be carried out through a competitive examination system ("Concurso-Oposición"). The recruitment process consists of two phases:
- Curriculum Analysis: Evaluation of previous experience and/or scientific history, degree, training, and other professional information relevant to the position. - 40 points
- Interview phase: The highest-rated candidates at the curriculum level will be invited to the interview phase, conducted by the corresponding department and Human Resources. In this phase, technical competencies, knowledge, skills, and professional experience related to the position, as well as the required personal competencies, will be evaluated. - 60 points. A minimum of 30 points out of 60 must be obtained to be eligible for the position.
The recruitment panel will be composed of at least three people, ensuring at least 25% representation of women.
In accordance with OTM-R principles, a gender-balanced recruitment panel is formed for each vacancy at the beginning of the process. After reviewing the content of the applications, the panel will begin the interviews, with at least one technical and one administrative interview. At a minimum, a personality questionnaire as well as a technical exercise will be conducted during the process.
The panel will make a final decision, and all individuals who participated in the interview phase will receive feedback with details on the acceptance or rejection of their profile.
