I am a climate scientist working in the fields of climate extremes, climate variability, climate predictability and climate change. My research focuses in particular on understanding the respective roles of climate variability and anthropogenic climate change in the occurrence of extreme weather and climate events, and on understanding the predictability of such extreme events.

I am currently co-leading the Climate Variability and Change Group within BSC’s Earth Sciences Department. Since February 2022 I am an ICREA Research Professor.
