The Data Analytics and Visualization Group at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center is a multidisciplinary team focused on solving problems through data. The group is formed by physicists, computer and data scientists, graphic artists, and interaction designers. This mixture allows us, as a team, to use visual and statistical tools and apply them to a wide range of problems in industry, science, and society.
We see data to understand better and faster, but playing with it gives us deeper and longer lasting insights. Our data visualization research focuses on the users and their experience.
We create high end data visualizations and use them for communication, either for the society at large, for professional presentations, or for internal company reports.
We use advanced statistical methods like artificial intelligence and machine learning to solve practical and applied problems in industry and science, including the development of novel or ad hoc data infrastructures and methods.
We wish to make urban environments better places to live in for people by tackling urban policy challenges through data-driven computational methods. We collaborate directly with urban planners, putting real-world problems in the center of our research.
