Access to PRACE

Application Procedure

Calls will be announced on the PRACE website.

For project access and multi-year access, you can only apply when calls are open and applications must be received by the published closing date.

Proposals for preparatory access can be submitted all year round.

You can apply for computer time on the available supercomputer systems. Available resources are announced for each Call for Proposals.

For Preparatory Access, you may require the support of PRACE software experts to improve the application code. Before applying for optimisation support, it is recommended that you contact the “PA type C support group”, explaining what you require and what you would like them to provide. This will ensure that the proposal is feasible.

Access to PRACE resources is devoted solely for open R&D research purpose.

All PRACE Calls for proposals are open to academia & industry under specific mandatory conditions. Please carefully check the full eligibility criteria listed in the text of the respective call for proposals.

PRACE HPC centers may have further restrictions on who is eligible to access their own systems. It is the responsibility of the applicant to ensure that they are eligible to access the system(s) they have applied for.

Applicants interested in applying to any of the PRACE calls, need to complete an application form online. We strongly advise that you should read the Application Guide before filling out the on-line application form.

If you are a first time user of PRACE peer review, you will need to register on the PRACE on-line system by filling out all mandatory fields of the registration form. After sending in your registration, you will receive an e-mail with your password. You can then re-enter the PRACE on-line system and begin to fill in the application form. After the form has been saved, you can continue to access it and update it before finally submitting it. After submission you will not be able to make any changes to the application.

Please note that all applications must be submitted before the call deadline. The PRACE on-line system will close at the exact time of the call closure and it is not possible to submit any post-deadline applications.
