Context And Mission
The Department of Life Sciences at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC) brings together senior scientists specializing in various areas of computational biology, including bioinformatics and computational biochemistry. In collaboration with the Brain, Cognition, and Behavior Research Group at the Hospital Universitari de Terrassa–Consorci Sanitari de Terrassa (C3-CST), which consists of neuropsychology experts specializing in cognition, emotions, and human behavior, they are driving the CLIMATICAT project. This project focuses on the impact of climate change on mental health and well-being. The project combines computational analysis and clinical expertise to identify the most vulnerable groups, including those affected by eco-anxiety and studies the co-occurrence of mental health disorders with other conditions exacerbated by climate change.
The project is seeking an expert in mental health to study the data from this perspective, identify clinical implications, and assess the impact of climate change on mental health, ranging from mental disorders to neurodegenerative diseases. The selected person will also contribute to disseminating the results within the healthcare sector, with a special focus on mental health. Given the interest in the impact of climate-related events on cognitive, emotional, and behavioral disorders, knowledge in neuropsychology will be highly valued.
The selected candidate will be fully integrated into the Brain, Cognition, and Behavior Research Group (C3-CST), reporting to this team throughout the project. They will work closely and collaboratively with the BSC team, proactively contributing to the joint research line on the impact of climate change on mental health.

- Collaborate in analyzing media coverage of climate change in Catalonia, primarily through social media, and assess its impact on the population's mental health.
- Disseminate the scientific results of the project through publications and communications in psychology, neuropsychology, and mental health.
- Collaborate in the design of educational materials for managing eco-anxiety and promoting its clinical application.
- Adapt to new tasks arising from technical, legal, or organizational changes in the project, as well as the research team's needs.
